ZimCompany › ZIMRA registration
Every business in Zimbabwe must register with the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority within 30 days of starting business. Registration produces a Business Partner Number and opens the tax heads that apply to you. ZimCompany files the registration so the number is in hand before the first invoice goes out.

The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority requires a business to register within 30 days of starting business. Registration is what produces the Business Partner Number, the identifier that follows your company through every tax filing, every clearance and every procurement form for the rest of its life. Your bank will ask for it. Corporate customers will ask for it. It appears on your invoices.
Registration also decides which tax heads are opened against your company: income tax always, Pay As You Earn once you have staff, Value Added Tax if you register for it, and withholding taxes where they apply. Getting the heads right at the start avoids nil returns for taxes you never owed and penalties for returns nobody told you to file.
Registration is the moment the calendar starts. Pay As You Earn is due by the 10th of the following month once you have staff. Value Added Tax returns are due by the 25th if you are registered for VAT. Quarterly payment dates fall on 25 March, 25 June, 25 September and 20 December. The annual income tax return is due within six months of your year end.
For a company whose owners are not in Zimbabwe this is the part that goes wrong quietly. Nobody there is watching the calendar for you, and the first sign of trouble is usually a customer telling you your tax clearance has lapsed. Our monthly compliance retainer exists for exactly this reason.
Our fee for zimra registration and business partner number in Zimbabwe: US$90. Government fees included in the price, not itemised by ZIMRA. Our fee and the government fee are always shown as two separate numbers.
We confirm your timeline in writing before you pay. Prices were last verified on 10 September 2026. The full price list is at ZimCompany pricing.
It is the identifier ZIMRA allocates to your business at registration. It appears on your tax filings, your clearance certificate and most procurement forms, and your bank will ask for it when you open an account.
ZIMRA requires registration within 30 days of starting business. Most clients buy it with the company registration so the two are done from the same document pack.
No. The filing is done for you. What you need to provide is the incorporation pack, identity documents and a plain description of what the business does.
